Cetie Guidelines Series – Quality and Best Practices for Bottling

The Guidelines series offers a comprehensive set of quality-focused recommendations designed to support bottlers and their suppliers in ensuring the safety, reliability, and consistency of pre-packaged products.

Developed in response to challenges raised by industry members, these documents provide practical guidance for:
  • Creating technical and functional specifications for packaging components (labelling, capping, cardboard packaging, etc.)
  • Implementing quality management systems, including practical approaches to ISO 9000 certification
  • Maintaining hygiene and cleanliness on bottling lines, particularly for still wine and food products
  • Ensuring product safety and proper inspection procedures on bottling lines
  • Managing filling volumes, prepacking operations, and mobile bottling contracts
  • Defining recyclability and qualification tests for closures on PET bottles and other packaging types
These guidelines serve as a foundation for harmonised practices and foster a shared understanding between stakeholders across the bottling supply chain, complementing Cetie’s technical data sheets and supporting compliance with European regulations.
