The index marks considered are geometrically defined features, either positive (e.g., lugs) or negative (e.g., slots). These marks are intended to enable non-destructive application angle measurement. The measurement can be performed either manually by an operator or via automated vision systems (AVSs). Different types of inspection, and several types of the camera setups, in the case of AVS, might require different index marks.

• up to 8,8g CO₂/l (4,5 vol CO₂) content and bottles of up to and including 3,0 litres in capacity.

This finish can be used for hot filling (HF) with a maximum temperature up to 90°C
 
This finish is intended for non-refillable bottles, has vent slots and is designed to take a tamper-evident plastic closure engaging on a bead foreseen for this purpose.

One purpose of this document is to guide parties intending to place products on the market that might fall into the scope of Article 6 (1) to (4) to answer the following questions:

• Does my product fall into the scope of Article 6 (1) to (4) of the Directive?
• If so, does my product comply with Article 6 (1) to (4).
• If so, how can I demonstrate compliance with the Directive?

Consequently, GMP is an important module particularly for aseptic filling, to reduce the risk of packaging materials that are difficult to sterilise to the required minimum.
The points listed are based on a comprehensive analysis of the manufacturing process.
The manufacturing process of preforms and caps can be done both with injection and compression moulding technologies, therefore the quality hazards and GMP principles mentioned in this document are valid for any of them.
