The 18/02/2025

The Cetie (International Technical Centre for Bottling and Associated Packaging) is delighted to announce the creation of a new working group dedicated to Labelling on Glass Containers.

This joint initiative aims to develop guidelines and best practices for the functional specification of labels and application machines in the glass packaging industry.

Scope of the Working Group

This new working group will focus on key aspects of labelling processes on glass containers, including:

-Ensuring Proper Label Adhesion and Performance: Developing guidelines for optimal label adhesion to enhance product integrity and consumer appeal.

-Optimizing Pressure-Sensitive Labelling Processes: Improving application techniques to increase efficiency and reduce waste.

-Enhancing Label Separation in Recycling and Reuse: Establishing best practices for label removal, promoting sustainable recycling and reuse of glass containers.

By bringing together stakeholders from various sectors—including adhesive and label manufacturers, glass producers, labelling machine suppliers, and fillers—we aim to create comprehensive documentation that enhances packaging efficiency, sustainability, and overall performance.
